AN EYE CATCHER OF REDS!

I do love a good RED, and for me that means more to the orange side of red.  And, this shade of red in a variety of differing beads comes together incredibly adding in some other bright colors - green and turquoise glass beads, with some translucent brass and antique brass metal thrown in for good measure.  I actually made the earrings more than a year ago--a beaded bead design by Eileen at Bead Street with Czech rounds with gold little birds added as dangles--and the necklace was made several months ago, which is tubular herringbone using 8.0 sb (a great project for long stretches of straight road in the car headed to and from MT to see our kids/grandkids/granddog!).  The pendant is the Wendy Speare design from my recent post, just with a totally different color combo, and the bracelet is newest -- another design by Ella Des taught in a class at Bead Street by Sandy. This combo certainly brightens up any outfit I might be wearing!  Ha. 

KHEOPS WEAVE OOH LA LA!

Had a lovely class on Saturday, and then another on Monday, so it was a fun couple days, spending some quality time with my beading buddies!  We do have a great time playing with our beads.  Thank you Sandy for teaching this pattern @ Bead Street - designed by Ella Des aptly named Kheops Weave.  The sheen and color combination on these silky angled beads I chose (purchased at Bead Street of course!) is so incredible.  They are so versatile, and take on a different color dependent on the lighting, and the other beads surrounding them.

NEW 4-HOLE KHEOPS TRIANGLES

There are truly so many new beads becoming available, that it makes my head spin, but mostly my hands move a little faster!  This is another design by Akke Jonkhof Akkesieraden, she named "Bracelet Kheopatra" taught by Sandy Taylor at Bead Street.  Another very interestink name for a beautiful design.  And, these new triangles - oh my.  Thicker and really fun to use.  They are 6mm and called Kheops.  They actually have 2 holes drilled parallel through the bead.  And, what I learned is that you need to pay close attention as you add them in any pattern, so you have the top of the triangle headed the right direction.  Love this turquoise/purple combo.
